#19. I have one eye on the future! This week I will take intentional action to start something new.
Each week I’m reporting here on my personal experience in implementing my 52 Intentional Affirmations. These are designed to help us be more intentionally mindful of the impact our intentions have on living a happy, flourishing and prosperous life. I have to admit that applying this weeks intentional affirmation has not been easy, and on the one hand I would say I’ve failed, and yet on the other, I have succeeded.
One of the founders of applied positive psychology is Dr. Martin Seligman. His research identified the importance for us all to be consistently applying what he refers to as our ‘signature strengths’. I highly recommmend you visit his site and complete the signature strengths survey.
It came as no surprise to me that high on my list of signature strengths is learning and creativity.
When Strengths Become Weaknesses
As so often is the case, a strength can also be a weakness… and so it is with me and my learning and creativity strength/weakness.
This week’s affirmation suggests to keep one eye on the future and to take intentional action to start something new. The problem that I have is, given the opportunity, I’d be constantly starting something new, and leaving other unfinished projects behind.
So it was this week that I fell back on my good friend and founder of Thought Leaders Global, Matt Church’s advice to focus on 3 projects at any one time in any quarter of the year.
If you’re not the kind of person who chases the many sparkly stars of opportunity that pop up in front of you multiple times daily, focus is probably not a problem for you. However, for me, Matt’s advice has been invaluable… not easy… but invaluable.
I certainly have had one eye on the future this week. I’ve been constantly reminding myself about the big intention Liz and I have to positively impact 1,000,000 people over the next decade with the Intentionomics philosophy and blueprint of 9 inescapable truths for a prosperous life.
However, rather than starting something new, I’ve been looking at new ways to improve the 3 projects that I’m currently working on, and I wanted to share with you here what they are.
Financial Advisers and Accountants:
The first is to align with professional and trusted financial advisers and accountants to help them create even more value for their clients by providing them with access to the Intentionomics resources in ways that can add real value for their clients.
It just makes sense that the advice and strategies of financial advisers/planners and accoutants are all aimed at helping their clients become more financially secure to live more happy, flourishing and prosperous lives.

Sales Mastery Accreditation:
For the majority of my consulting and corporate education career, I’ve been focusing on helping sales managers and their sales teams build more intentional trust relationships with their clients to win more new, repeat and referral sales.

One Eye On The Future
As I’ve said, this week’s affirmation was tough, and as I’ve just re-read this post, I fear it might sound like a running advertisement. However, I’m just sharing my truth with you on how I’m applying the 52 Intentional Affirmations.
