In fact, central to each of us creating happy, flourishing and prosperous work and personal lives is the level of trust and fulfilment we give and receive in our relationships.
One of the real advantages in the process of applying the Intentionomics Blueprint of 9 Inescapable Truths for a prosperous work and personal life is clarity of “Role-Intention”.
The more clear you are on your intention for the people in the relationships you have in work and personal life-roles, the more you are able to put context and meaning to your daily intentional actions. Said another way..
“Role-Intention provides clarity of context and gives altruistic meaning to your life.”
You are more than your thoughts, feelings, actions and behaviour. You bring with your every thought, feeling, action and behaviour your life experiences and these experiences you bring with you, that are more than you, are gifted to you by your ancestors and your past and current relationships.
You are more than just yourself!
As the advertisement says so succinctly, opportunity is built on relationships… the question is, what opportunities and which relationships are you mindfully aware of right now?
This goes beyond our personal relationships and reaches into our work relationships and opportunities as well.
The work I’ve been doing recently at Board and Executive team levels, introducing them to the Inspiring Workplace Prosperity model, takes the somewhat dated process of Visioning and Values to the next level by completing Intentional Statements for each key stakeholder.
Once you are clear on your intention (your bigger WHY) for each stakeholder group, it provides the context you need to be able to determine the promises and expectations that will be set and managed, the actions (habits and processes) that will need to be implemented, the desired results (responsibilities and accountabilities) and all of which determine the level of trust that is created to assist and support the ongoing relationship with each stakeholder group.
It is an inescapable truth that each of us needs to build intentional trust relationships to live more happy, flourishing and prosperous work and personal lives. Because if we are not clear on our intentions for our relationships, our actions will potentially be unintentional, and without context… and without context there is no meaning.
Intention brings context and therefore meaning into our relationships, and it’s our relationships that validate that we are more than just ourselves.
Every decision we make and every action we take in some way will impact others. When you buy into and take intentional action on this inescapable truth, the intentional trust relationships you build, will create intentionally reciprocal opportunities in both your personal and work life.
