Living a ‘good life’ means more than just happiness! In this video series I’ve selected from 101 keywords and discuss how each word can impact your potential to live a more happy, flourishing and prosperous personal and work life.
This is keyword #037 – Ego.
One of the inescapable truths for a prosperous life is to define your intention for each life role. One key life role that you have is to look after you. To live a happy, flourishing and prosperous life you need to look after you – because if you don’t, you won’t be able to look after the others around you in your various life roles.
You need to look after your health, your wealth and to be pursuing personal growth. If you’re not growing personally, you’re stagnating. That’s why one of the inescapable truths for a prosperous life is to develop a thirst for intentional learning. Your ego – your genuine confidence, self trust, pride and personal respect – is your truth about you. Your ego is your strength of character and inner voice. Your ego is your personal values, the principles upon which you live and act.
The platform principle of Intentionomics is that people get your truth. Your truth, your ego, is revealed to the world through your thoughts, feelings, decisions, actions and results. To live a happy, flourishing and prosperous life requires you to take stock of your truth about you, and to look after you so that you can look after others.
Let me conclude with a wonderful quote from the inspiring author Jane Austen who said…..
“What wild imaginations one forms where dear self is concerned.”
