Living a ‘good life’ means more than just happiness! In this video series I’ve selected from 101 keywords and discuss how each word can impact your potential to live a more happy, flourishing and prosperous personal and work life.
This is keyword #040 – Encourage
When you understand the inescapability of ‘intentional reciprocity’ you quickly realise the more value you give out, the better you feel about the person you are, and your personal character, regardless of whatever other value might be returned to you because of your intentional actions.
You have the opportunity to encourage others around you in your various life roles to see more in themselves than they may see.
For many people, the only feedback they seem to receive is negative. When you choose to intentionally provide positive feedback on the strengths or achievements of others within your life role, rather than find fault, you will not only help build their personal sense of ‘self’ but in so doing, you build on your own strength of character.
This is another example of intentional reciprocity, where you give out positiveness through encouraging others to see more in themselves than they might personally see, and what you receive back, regardless of any other personal value that may be returned to you because of your intentional actions, you build on your own strength of character and sense of self worth.
This is your truth about you and it is essential for you to live a happy, flourishing and prosperous life.
So let me conclude today’s message with a quote from William Arthur Ward who so elegantly said…..
“Encourage me and I will not forget you.”
