This is one of my favourite ‘essays’ of all time. In book form, it is a short looking glass into the 9th inescapable truth for a prosperous life outlined in the Intentionomics Blueprint, that ‘we choose’ how we think and react to the realities of our life.
Warning – you will need to get beyond the ‘male gender language’, and keep it in perspective of when it was written… if you can, you’ll be well rewarded.
This is a beautifully written piece. The century plus old language paints pictures in poetic prose that anchor the inescapability of the title of the book – As a man thinketh…
Science is only really now catching up with what James Allen wrote over 100+ years ago, and it still amazes me that we need science to prove and validate that which we all know to be true… even if we don’t want to admit it… that what we say to ourselves (our inner voice), affects how we feel (physically and emotionally), and how we feel affects our choices, decisions and actions, which over time, when repeated, create our habits of life and these in turn lead to our levels of success, happiness, and prosperity.
On thinking how to best summarise this wonderful work by James Allen, I will leave it to his own words to help you decide to seek it out and read it. Here are just three of my favourite quotes…
“Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained, and a man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig into the mine of his soul.”
“Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful and pure thoughts.”
“Thought and character are one, and as character can only manifest and discover itself through environment and circumstance, the outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state.”
This is food for the soul that will help you develop your positive thinking and skills for life – a happy, flourishing and prosperous life, and I do recommend you buy a copy, keep it near and read it at least annually like I do.
