Martin Seligman Ph.D is at the forefront of the positive psychology movement around the world.  The goal of positive psychology is working on the central focus of what Aristotle’s premise was all those years ago – that the purpose of life is to pursue happiness and to increase flourishing.

Seligman provides extensive research and validation to what he has determined to be the 5 core elements to increase flourishing and uses the acronym PERMA to define them: Positive emotion, Engagement, Meaning, Positive relationships and Accomplishments. Now although I find the acronym confusing, the essence and clarity that these five core elements to increasing flourishing and how to go about establishing and maintaining them in your own personal and business life makes for powerful reading and significant understanding.

Once again this book highlights the importance of character and clearly articulates a number of ways to live a more happy, flourishing and prosperous life.
