This is a personal favourite of mine and I love the subtitle of this book “the courage to meet the demands of reality”. Dr. Cloud writes “who a person is will ultimately determine if their brains, talents, competencies, energy, effort, deal-making abilities and opportunities will succeed.”
Dr. Cloud highlights the importance of understanding and operating with the clarity of what is reality – “when you accept that life is tough, it’s no longer as tough”…..magic!
Integrity matters! You’ll learn the 6 integrity dimensions. They are: 1. Establishing trust, 2. Oriented toward truth, 3. Getting results, 4. Embracing the negative, 5. Oriented toward increase, 6. Oriented toward transcendence.
What I gained most from this book was the reference to the importance of results as a dimension of integrity. You can be a person of good character, but will I trust you to be able to deliver the results?
